I became an owner, with no prior experience, in 1991. I learned the travel business the hard way - hands on 7 days a week. I attended all Worldspan classes offered and went on several fams per year to Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe in order to familiarize myself with destinations my clients were most interested in. After the death of my husband I decided to close my agency and join Shelby Travel. That was 10 years ago. By joining Shelby it has enabled me to work with several travel professionals sharing our experiences around the entire world. It has enabled me to travel to far distant destinations including China, New Zealand, Fiji, Russia and the Amazon, to name a few. I lived in the Far East which ha given me additional experience with the Arabic culture. I believe travel is in my blood. I am no sooner home than I am planning my next exotic destination. The excitement is there so it is easy to be enthusiastic with the clients.
